When ordering a Sheppard Steering gear the following information is required:

1. The cast number found on the main case.

2. The stamped numbers on the flat machined surface around the output shaft. Note: If the steering gear is mounted to the frame on the same side of the case as the output shaft, the stamped numbers will be on a flat machined surface on the same side of the case as the side cover.

These series of Sheppard gears are obsolete and Sheppard will no longer supply parts for. Because of this we are unable to rebuild or accept these gears as a core for exchange, however Sheppard has engineered the newer series of Sheppard gears to replace these with minor modifications in most cases.
